in the UW, the aatxes will rip apart anyone that isn't prepared. here, stances are your best friend. bonetti's, gladiator's, and the like.

The key to surviving is protective spirit. Someone should cast it on the tank at all times. Some ppl prefer Life Bond (caster gets half the damage, reduced by X amount), but I don't like that spell b/c someone still has to keep the Bonder alive.
the tank's main task in UW is to act as a meat shield--aggro all the bulls, and stay alive. bonetti defense is essential for a W/Mo's self heals.
A typical UW tank build for me would be: Bonetti Defense, Defensive Stance, "Watch Yourself", Cyclopean Axe (to charge up Bone D), Executioner's Strike, Rebirth, Healing Hands [E], Rebirth.

Enfeeble. Enfeebling Blood if you're taking on more than two and don't know how to make them block each other off. Mind you you'll have to use Riposte or Deadly Riposte if you're using a sword to block Savage Slash since Enfeebling Blood has a two second cast time. If not using a sword, Shield Bash works fairly well although the recharge on that isn't too friendly. Or if you don't believe in breaking the holy trinity, make your ele bring Enervating Charge.
But, if you don't take a necro down and if no one is /n, bring Dolyak Signet and Watch Yourself, along with Gladiator's Defense, Shield Stance, and if your tactics isn't 14+, Bonetti's Defense.
Can't rely on monks to tank Mindblade Specters, warrior does that a lot better.

If your interested my W/E uses Whirlwind (I take Stonefists for it), Riposte, Hundred Blades and Bonnetti's to tank aataxes.
I open with whirlwind, knock them on thier butt. Then hundred blades, Riposte is then good to go and I'm a couple strikes from Bonetti's. I'll normally have it up fairly soon after they get up.
Once Bonetti's is up, I activate whirlwind just as Bonetti's is about to expire. Put up Riposte and do another Hundred Blades. And I'm generally back under Bonetti's before they have a chance to do much back.
All I need is a bit of healing from the monk and I'm fine.
